
With the rapid development of technology and rising demands for sophisticated product packaging, the need for position tracking in packaging production lines is also increasing. Therefore, promoting comprehensive application of advanced technologies to achieve high automation is urgently needed.

Tile packaging machinery mainly consists of a conveying system, a detection mechanism, a turning device, a paper feeding and folding assembly, a packaging mechanism, and a control system.
The conveying system is responsible for the continuous transport of tiles, the detection mechanism identifies the tile specifications and position; the turning device adjusts the tile placement posture, the paper feeding and folding assembly completes the supply and shaping of packaging paper; the packaging mechanism realizes the bundling and sealing, and the control system (including PLC, inverter, etc.) coordinates the linkage of various components to ensure efficient connection of processes such as tile loading, detection, tile turning, paper feeding, and packaging, meeting the needs of automated packaging.


The domestic tile packaging process encompasses tile loading, inspection, and turning, with the tile conveying process placing the highest demands on inverter control. During conveying, the inverter must start and stop quickly and smoothly to prevent tile slippage, and the stopping position error must be within 2 millimeters to ensure smooth operation and aesthetically pleasing packaging.
To guarantee consistent stopping positions, the inverter needs to work in conjunction with a PLC and encoder. The PLC calculates the tile position using the encoder and sends a 0-50kHz pulse signal to the inverter.


Given the above-mentioned problems with traditional tile packaging machinery, the customer requested technical modifications to the tile conveying electric drive system and the paper feeding and folding electric drive system of the tile packaging machinery.
In order to overcome the shortcomings of the traditional speed regulation system, such as unstable start-stop and large positioning error, variable frequency speed regulation technology was adopted to modify the transmission system of the packaging machinery.
